 ABOUT THE FIRM Our firm was started in 1981 by Steve Franke. Steve was the sole partner of Steven R. Franke, S.C. for 15 years. Chip Weisbrod joined Steve in December, 1995, forming Franke & Weisbrod CPA's. Scott Turnbull joined the firm in October, 1997, thus creating Franke, Weisbrod & Turnbull, CPA's. With the additions, we are able to provide a full line of accounting, auditing and tax services. Our staff is well-balanced, with diverse experience. This gives us the ability to provide the ultimate in service and professionalism. He graduated from University of Wisconsin - Madison, receiving his bachelors degree in accounting in 1974. After graduating in 1974, Steve worked at St Francis Medical Center, Accounting Dept before public accounting. He sat for and passed the CPA exam in November of 1978, and served on various committees and boards including WAFER, St Joseph Cathedral, Franciscan Skemp Credit Union and the La Crosse Country Club. He graduated from St. Norbert College in DePere WI, receiving his bachelors degree in accounting in 1986. He later received a masters degree in taxation in 1995 from the Washington School of Law. After graduating in 1986, Chip joined a local public accounting firm and worked in its tax department until joining Steve in December of 1995. He sat for and passed the CPA exam in November of 1986, and has extensive experience in the areas of individual income tax and business taxation. e-mail: scottt@fwtcpa.comScott has lived and worked in the Coulee Region virtually all his life. Born in La Crosse and raised in Onalaska, he graduated from Onalaska High School in 1978. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse in 1982, receiving a bachelor's degree in accounting. After graduating, Scott joined the public accounting profession. He passed the CPA exam in 1986 and is licensed to practice accounting in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Scott has over 19 years in public accounting, focusing on audit and accounting, individual and small business taxation. In addition, he specializes in providing a variety of services to not-for-profit entities and has extensive experience working with numerous not-for-profit organizations as auditor, consultant, and board member.
